You're probably right on that, chances are good the retail version will contain the gig or so of new content changes and everyone will have to download the supplemental patch.

I'm assuming that the first patch is the same rev as the retail box. Requiring the second patch makes things simpler for ccp.

And given the relatively late stage in development/deployment. I would be very surprised if the client in the boxed set didn't require a massive download patch of it's own. It had to go for pressings 1 - 2 weeks ago? How much has changed even in that short amount of time? No matter where you get the client, I think you are looking at a serious download marathon ahead of you, not including the amount of time spent waiting for it while everyone else is doing the exact same thing.

[Disclosure: I'll be in line to download it just like everyone else. :p ]

Even though I don't have dial up, this still makes me happy that I'm planning on buying the boxed set. Not sure why though, since I'll probably install the patch before I manage to get my lazy ass out to the store anyway...

As a Drone resident I'd like to point out we are not the hillbillys of Eve, and we were well aware of the upcoming patch...

Now excuse me while I go rock on the porch with me shotgun...

...while I download the patch that will bust my daily cap twice over.
